Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma

Dr. Ziran fixes fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum (hip joint).  These are difficult fractures to fix due to the 3-dimensional nature of the pelvis and the complex anatomy.  They occur from high-energy mechanisms (i.e. motor vehicle accidents) but can also occur in elderly individuals with poor bone after a ground-level fall. Below are some X-ray examples of these injuries pre- and post-fixation
